Pekar's Israel
Illustrations by J.T Waldman
Thursday, September 13th to Sunday, November 18th, From the late underground comix icon Harvey Pekar's last graphic memoir, this exhibit features Waldman's original art from the graphic novel Not the Israel My Parents Promised Me. The illustrations range from childhood memories to visual panoramas of the history of Israel as the collaborators wrestle with the mythologies and realities surrounding the Jewish homeland.

JT Waldman will speak about the inspirations for his illustrations and his experiences working with Harvey Pekar, and will sign copies of the book.

Another side of the legendary performer Zero Mostel is revealed in this exhibit of his paintings and drawings, buzzing with the same energy he brought to his acting. Mostel began as an artist and never stopped throughout his theater and film career.

This international show of art in fi ber and other media will reveal how the ancient task of mending informs contemporary work, from photographs of spider webs mended with string, to performance artist Michael Swaine's free, outdoor mending services offered on an old treadle sewing machine.
